Rocket League will be free in Epic Games Store

The game have migrated from Steam to Epic Games Store including Cross-Platform progresion

Rocket League is one of the best selling and popular video game from the last couple of years. This popular video game is coming to the Epic Games Store as a free-to-play game for a limited time. Just a couple days before Watch Dogs 2 was also available for free on Epic Games. Let us have a small introduction to the Rocket League and when it is becoming free?

Short Introduction to Rocket League

Rocket League is a hybrid of arcade-style soccer and vehicular mayhem developed and published by Psyonix. The game was first released in 2015 and has completed its 5-year journey in July of 2020 having a couple of millions of players worldwide.

The game is amazing and popular among the fans as it provides a unique gaming experience than any other game. With its unique look and Gameplay style, many people love this game. Basically, the game includes a vehicle, a huge soccer ball, and a map size of 0.1127 Players have to drive around the field, get boosts and powers, hit the ball, and score to the opponent’s goal post. The game can also be played in Offline Mode as well.


  • Soccar: It is a standard mode where the players should score to opposing teams’ goals.
  • Snow Day: This mode is the same as Soccar mode instead it is played with Puck than Soccer.
  • Hoops: It is similar to Soccar mode but the goals are replaced by hoops.
  • Rumble: Players will get random powerups every 10 seconds that can affect the ball.
  • Dropshot: It is basically a soccer mode but the twist is you should have to put the ball into the floor while the last touch should be of your teams.

Rocket League Free on Epic Games Store

With Rocket League being free on Epic Games, Fortnite has brought up Llama-Rama Event. Simply, after completing the event by playing a few rounds you will be able to unlock LLAMA-RAMA-THEMED items. Items like the battle bus of Fortnite and llama themed cars in Rocket League will give you some Fortnite vibes as well. The event will be kicking in the game from September 26 to October 12 as per the website.

According to a tweet by Fortnite, the rewards from the event will be available to both Fortnite and Rocket League. Most likely, the rewards are cosmetics which include character skins and vehicle skins.

The game is freshly starting off from Season 1 with the release of the Rocket League in the Epic Games Store on PC. It will also feature cross-platform progression including the Steam version and Epic Games version. You will be able to play the game cross-platform with friends only after linking your different accounts to Epic Games.

After the release of the Rocket League in Epic Games, the game will no longer be available to download at Steam. However, players who already have the game on Steam will be able to play and receive future updates. The new Rocket League update includes:

  • Larger item pool for Trade Ups
  • Solo Standard removed
  • New Bot difficulty 
  • New Merc Hitbox

The game is going to be free from September 23rd at 8:45 PM Wednesday (GMT 5:45 pm Nepal Time). With the download, you all will get a $10 Epic Coupon Code for you to apply while purchasing games priced $15 and up.
